WATER SPORTS

Heir Island is set in wonderful, natural surroundings and is a haven for many types of water sports.

While the most common is sailing, the area is a fantastic place to kayak, windsurf, snorkel, fish, stand up paddle board, coasteer, and much more.

With many uninhabited islands in the surrounding area, there are so many places to have an adventure. The waters are very clean and the conditions can be so varied to suit every level of expertise in all types of water sports. Nearby towns and islands, such as Schull, Ballydehob, Baltimore, Sherkin, & Cape Clear, are all accessible by the sea.

Heir Island itself has wonderful beaches, cliffs, caves, arches, and wildlife. The island also has four visitor moorings on the eastern side, and we are part of the EU Cool Route and Wild Atlantic Way.
